Qualification

Desperado squad

46 players are qualified as follows
A: 3 players from a separate standing in the squads conducted on Saturday and Sunday 11-12 October
B: 3 players from a separate standing in the squads conducted on Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday 13-14-15 October
C: 36 players from the general standing including results from all qualification squads
D: 4 players from the desperado squad
Players are qualified from the categories in the order C B - A
If any player in one of the standings are qualified in a higher standing, the next positioned player in the standing will qualify.
Seeding for the final steps
Players qualified from the A-standing (3), the B-standing (3), the desperado standing (4) and players positioned 11-36 (26) in the general standing will qualify for the final step 1
Players positioned 1-10 (10) in the general standing will qualify for the final step 2
Final step 1
36 players will play 4 games starting from scratch
Top 18 will qualify for the final step 2.
Players not continuing to the final step 2 will be ranked 29-46 according to their positions in the standing of the final step 1
Final step 2
28 players will play 4 games starting from scratch
Top 16 will qualify for the final step 3, seeded 1 16 according to their position in the standing of the final step 2
Players not continuing to the final step 3 will be ranked 17-28 according to their positions in the standing of the final step 2
Final step 3
There will be 4 pools of 4 players, divided as follows:
Pool 01: Players seeded 1, 8, 12, 16
Pool 02: Players seeded 2, 7, 11, 15
Pool 03: Players seeded 3, 6, 10, 14
Pool 04: Players seeded 4, 5, 9, 13
In each pool, the 4 players will play 2 games, starting from scratch
The winner and the runner up in each pool will qualify for the final step 4
The remaining 8 players will be ranked 9-16 according to their seeding
Final step 4
The seeding of the 8 players will be renumbered 1-8 in an order relative to their previous seeding numbers
There will be 2 pools of 4 players, divided as follows:
Pool 05: Players seeded 1, 4, 6, 8
Pool 06: Players seeded 2, 3, 5, 7
In each pool, the 4 players will play 2 games, starting from scratch
The winner and the runner up in each pool will qualify for the final step 5 maintaining their seeding numbers
The remaining 4 players will be ranked 5-8 according to their seeding
Final step 5
There will be one group of 4 players
The player with the highest seeded number will be the first to play, the second highest seeded number will be the second to play and so on
They will play 2 games starting from scratch
The winner and the runner up will qualify for the final step 6
The remaining 2 players will be ranked 3-4 according to their position in the standing of the final step 5
Final step 6
The 2 players will play one game starting from scratch
They will play on a single lane, the runner up of the final step 5 will be the first to play
The winner will be ranked 1
The looser will be ranked 2

Qualification and the final step 1-4
In case of a tie, the highest ranked player will be the player with the highest last game. If a tie still exists the highest ranked player will be the player with the highest second last game, then the player with the highest third last game etc.
Final step 5-6
In case of a tie in a match, a one ball roll off on a full set of pins will be played, repeated until the tie is broken.
Desperado
In case of tie in the desperado squad, the highest positioned player will be the player with the highest position after the qualification.

A maximum of three squads can be booked before the tournament starts and maximum two of the bookings can be for squads on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday 18 October 2014, the squads are reserved for non-Italian players, while Italian players can sign up at these squads not earlier than thirty days prior to the first day of the tournament1
